New grandstands are expensive and require a significant capital outlay to build. Many times, the seating capacity of an existing structure is acceptable, but the venue is worn out from decades of use.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is aware of 10 deaths that involved falls from bleachers from 1980 through 1999. Of those 10 deaths, four were children under the age of 15. The owner of a grandstand is directly responsible for providing a safe environment for the spectator. Rather than demolish an old bleacher, it is often possible to renovate the structure and save a significant amount of money compared to building new.

From time to time, an owner may want to change the seating configuration to provide upscale seating, such as benches with backrests or individual chairs. It is always challenging to retrofit different seating configurations onto an existing structure, but the Stadium Solutions construction department can meet those challenges and provide you with a three-year warranty on materials and workmanship. The industry standard is one year.
